Standing today as a global icon of hope and inspiration, an international best-selling author, and a professional speaker. Barbara's childhood was marred by relentless bullying that started at the age of seven and continued until she was twelve. Amidst the constant name-calling and questioning of her worth, Barbara found safety, validation, and love in her wonderful father, John W. Beckley. He lifted her confidence when he declared over her that she was "diamond in the rough." Those words forever transformed Barbara’s life for the good.
At the age of 17 Barbara’s life as she knew it was forever changed. Her father, the beacon of positivity in her life, was murdered. This tragedy pushed her to the brink of despair, nudging her towards suicidal thoughts. As a result, Barbara ended up being admitted to a local hospital and there she decided to surrender to the thoughts of taking her own life. But, God still had other plans for Barbara’s life and sent an angel in the form of her nurse for divine intervention. The nurse, unaware of the special mantra shared between Barbara and her deceased father, echoed the phrase, "You are a diamond in the rough."
This encounter changed the trajectory of her life. Barbara realized that there was power in her pain. She pledged not only to survive but to thrive and vowed to inspire others to do the same. This is where the mission everyone needs to understand their purpose, passion, and drive in their life derives from. Through tragedy and pain Barabara emerged a fearless woman destined to assist others in obtaining their freedom spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially. As a result, Barbara started the Diamond Factor Network. And, through this network, Barbara’s father’s legacy of love and kindness lives on.
In the face of adversities, including sexual molestation at 23 and an encounter with uterine cancer at 43, leading to a full hysterectomy, Barbara's resolve remained unshaken. Even after enduring a 27-year-long abusive marriage, which ended in divorce at 55, her determination did not wane, and her faith was not stolen from her. Faith, that no matter what God had her and that one day, this diamond in the rough would emerge victorious as a rare precious gem.
These trials fueled her mission to instill hope, awareness, and purpose in others,particularly women and assist them to discover their unique God-given purpose.
